Photos from Egypt...

I have more from the unrest, hiking Sinai... roughly 6,000 photos from our little adventure to Egypt but for now here are a few from the program.

Riots in Egypt

Just to let everyone know I have enjoyed a safe and uneventful exodus from Egypt. The hand of the Lord was upon us each step of the way and I am more thankful than ever to live in a country with the religious and political freedoms I enjoy.

We were never in harms way and can thank the directors of the Jerusalem Center and the Leaders of the LDS church for faith and prayers and for wise planning and great execution. I would also like thank my family and loved ones for your faith and prayers and know that I have truly been blessed. I have truly seen fulfilment of the promise that the Lord will go before my face and be on my right hand and on my left and am so thankful for the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and the many blessings it affords.

We had great tour guides and armed guards with us 24x7 and never once felt that I was in danger. The night before we left Cairo one of our guides went to help protect the National Museum and was shot with a rubber bullet and he was even at work the next morning.

I hope you will join with me in praying for the nations of the World that are in a state of turmoil that the Lord may be with them and that His will may be done. There were so many good people there and such great peverty (40 million beneath the poverty line with one meal/2$--or less--per day). I hope to see a president elected that will change things for the better and a system of checks and balances be established to protect the rights and interests of the people. I also realize that I know relatively little about so many of the issues abroad and my graditude for my rights and privliges is compounded greatly by this.

Thank you again for your faith and prayers in our behalf.

Love,Ash
